Who to contact when Merchant Center disapproves your products
For a disapproved product, the first contact is Google’s own review process, not a person: fix the issue, then request a review from the product’s issue in Merchant Center. Google says reviews can take up to 7 business days, and approved products become eligible within 24 hours. If a sync app created the problem, its support team is the next contact. Only if you are still stuck do you need Google’s Merchant Center Help Center, which offers a help community and a Contact us option.
What this comes down to
- Start with a review request in Merchant Center, after fixing the issue; that is the route Google built for disapprovals.
- Google says a review can take up to 7 business days, and approved products become eligible within 24 hours.
- During a cool-down period, Google says its support team cannot bypass or shorten it, so nobody can speed it up for you.
- If the wrong data came from a store app or plugin, that app’s support can fix the source, which Google cannot.
Whom to turn to, by situation
| Situation | Turn to |
|---|---|
| The issue names a data problem you can fix | Your feed owner; then request a review |
| You believe the disapproval is wrong | A review request, choosing that you disagree with the issue |
| The bad data comes from a store app or plugin | That app’s or plugin’s support |
| A review was refused and you do not understand why | The Merchant Center Help Center: community or Contact us |
The fastest person to contact is usually nobody: fix it, then ask for a review.
First: the review request
- In Merchant Center, open Products & store > Products and the Needs attention tab.
- Choose Fix in the Status column for the issue.
- Pick the option that fits: Request website check, or I disagree with the issue.
- Select Request review.
Google says the review can take up to 7 business days, and products that are approved are eligible to show across Google within 24 hours. Before you press the button, check that the fix is really in the data Google reads: a corrected price on your site does not help if the feed still carries the old one.
If the button is greyed out
That is a cool-down period after an earlier request. Google says its support team can’t bypass or shorten the cool down period
. Nobody can get you past it sooner, which also means you can ignore anyone offering to. Use the time to make sure the next request will succeed.
When an app is the real source
If your products reach Merchant Center through a store app or plugin, the wrong value may be written by that app on every sync. Fixing it in Merchant Center alone can be undone on the next update. The app’s support team can tell you where it reads each field from. For categories in particular, the guide on where to keep categories explains why the source matters.
Last: Google’s Help Center
Google’s Merchant Center Help Center offers two routes: Post to the help community, where other merchants and volunteers answer, and Contact us. When you write, include the issue name exactly as Merchant Center shows it, the product id, what you changed, and the date of your review request. A specific message gets a specific answer.
This guide covers product disapprovals. An account-level suspension follows its own process, shown in Merchant Center, and is outside what is covered here.
